As-Is & Disclosures

SiteUnload is a marketplace for surplus, reclaimed, and leftover construction materials. All materials listed and sold through the platform are offered "as-is" and "where-is", without any warranty, guarantee, or representation of fitness for a particular purpose. This page explains what that means for buyers and sellers.

Material Grading

Sellers assign one of three grades to each listing. These grades are seller-provided and represent the seller's own assessment, not an independent inspection by SiteUnload:

• Grade A — Surplus/New: Unused, often original-packaging overstock. May show minor shelf wear.
• Grade B — Reclaimed: Salvaged from a prior installation. Functional but may show signs of use, weathering, or cosmetic defects.
• Grade C — Leftovers: Partial lots, off-cuts, or job-site remnants. Quantity and condition vary; buyers should expect irregular pieces.

A grade label is a general indicator only. The written description and photos provided by the seller control over any grade label in the event of a conflict.

No Warranties

SiteUnload makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding any material listed on the platform, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, all materials are provided as-is and with all faults.

SiteUnload does not inspect, test, certify, or appraise any material and is not a party to the transaction between buyer and seller.

Buyer Responsibilities

• Inspect before release. Buyers are strongly encouraged to inspect materials in person at pickup before releasing escrow funds. Releasing escrow constitutes acceptance of the material in its current condition.
• Rely on your own judgment. Review the seller's photos, description, and grade carefully. Ask questions through the in-app messaging before funding escrow.
• Comply with codes. Buyers are responsible for determining whether reclaimed or surplus materials meet local building codes, permit requirements, and engineering specifications for their intended use.
• Arrange pickup. Unless stated otherwise, buyers are responsible for transportation, loading, and any equipment needed at pickup.

Seller Responsibilities

• Accurate disclosure. Sellers must describe materials honestly, including known defects, missing parts, prior use, and any environmental concerns (e.g., suspected lead paint, asbestos, or treated lumber).
• Representative photos. Photos should clearly show the actual item(s) for sale, including any damage or wear.
• Prohibited items. Sellers may not list hazardous, illegal, recalled, or counterfeit materials, or any item that requires a licensed professional to transfer (such as certain firearms or regulated substances).

Escrow Release = Acceptance

When a buyer releases escrow funds to the seller, the buyer affirms they have received and accepted the material. After release, SiteUnload cannot reverse the payment except in cases of documented fraud handled under our Terms of Service and Escrow Policy.

Disputes About Condition

If a material does not match the seller's description, the buyer may open a dispute through the escrow process before releasing funds. See our Escrow Policy for dispute timeframes. After escrow is released, condition-related disputes must be resolved directly between buyer and seller; SiteUnload has no obligation to mediate post-release condition claims.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SiteUnload and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the condition, performance, or use of any material bought or sold on the platform, or from any transaction between users.

Environmental & Safety Notice

Reclaimed and surplus materials may have been exposed to jobsite conditions. Buyers and sellers should take appropriate safety precautions when handling, cutting, or installing such materials and should consult qualified professionals where safety or structural suitability is uncertain.
