Frequently Asked Questions

How does escrow protect me as a buyer?

Your payment is held securely by Stripe Connect until you inspect the materials at pickup and exchange verification tokens with the seller. Only then are funds released — so you never pay for materials you haven't verified.

When do I get paid as a seller?

Once the buyer confirms the exchange by releasing escrow, your payout (91.5% of the sale price) is automatically transferred to your connected Stripe Connect account. Connect Stripe from your dashboard to enable payouts.

How do swaps work?

Both buyer and seller pay a small $7.50 swap fee to secure the trade in escrow. At pickup you exchange verification tokens to confirm the swap, just like a cash transaction.

What if there's a problem with my transaction?

You can open a dispute from the Escrow Hub. Our team reviews disputes and resolves them in favor of the buyer or seller based on the evidence provided.

Do I need to verify my identity to sell?

Yes. All sellers must upload a photo ID, which an admin approves before listings go live. Verified sellers display a trust badge on their listings and profile.

Are materials sold 'as-is'?

Yes — all materials on SiteUnload are sold as-is. Review the seller's disclosures and grade rating, and inspect materials at pickup before releasing escrow. See our As-Is & Disclosures page for details.
